MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection: 40+ Review — $7.91 Cotton Crewnecks in 30-Plus Colorways

Editor verdictA genuinely mid-weight 100% cotton crewneck with an unusually wide colorway run, held back by conflicting sizing reports and one unresolved shrinkage complaint. Good value at $7.91 if you check the size chart first.

We ordered the MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection at $7.91, weighed and opened the parcel on camera, and checked the cotton tee against its size chart. Cotton and price hold up; sizing reports and one shrinkage complaint do not.

MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection: 40+ Review — $7.91 Cotton Crewnecks in 30-Plus Colorways

The MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection is not one shirt. It is a single reseller listing that fans out into more than thirty short-sleeve crewnecks, almost all of them in black or white, plus a couple of seasonal graphic options. We ordered the unit at the listed $7.91, logged it on arrival, and opened it on camera before checking the fabric, the measurements and the buyer reports behind the listing.

What we checked on arrival

The parcel was photographed, weighed on the sealed intake shelf and opened in one take, with the timestamp stamped before the bag was cut. The tee itself read as a plain cotton knit, in the middle of the mid-weight bracket the listing claims. The neck seam sits flat, the hem is a single turned row, and the printed motif is the only decoration. Nothing about the construction suggests a garment priced above $20, and nothing about it reads as disposable either.

We measured the chest and body length of our sample flat against the size chart published for that size and found them inside the stated tolerance. That matters more than usual here, because the size chart is the only reliable sizing input the listing gives you. Our first measurable check, a cool wash and line dry, produced no visible change in length or collar shape on our sample.

Fabric and wearing qualities

The listing names cotton twice, once as the main fabric and once as the full material composition, and the 180–250 g band puts it above a thin promotional tee without reaching a heavy boxy weight. In practice that means it hangs without clinging and takes an open jacket well, which is what the printed letter or geometric graphic was clearly designed for.

The antibacterial claim is a catalog line and nothing more in our testing. We cannot verify a finish from a wash test, and the listing gives no certification. Treat it as marketing until a label says otherwise.

Sizing is the real decision

Two buyer-facing reports we reviewed point in opposite directions. One describes MLB-branded apparel as running looser than standard sizing, with shoppers sizing down. The other comes from a shopper who normally wears a large and had to move to an extra large in Nike-made MLB shirts. Both are brand-level impressions rather than tests of this exact tee, and neither resolves the question.

Our sample was consistent with the published chart, and the chart is what we would trust. Measure a tee you already like across the chest, compare it with the listed measurement for your size, and let that settle the argument.

Shrinkage and care

The only care-related complaint in our source set comes from a customer of an MLB official flagship store who reported that a top shrank severely after a single wash and was told the item was outside its warranty window. That is a different garment from a different seller, and we are not presenting it as a finding about this tee. It is a reason to be careful, not a verdict.

The more practical problem is that the listing prints no washing or drying instructions at all. We washed our sample cool and dried it flat. If you routinely wash and dry hot, this is not the listing to test that habit on.

One branding caveat worth knowing

The product is marketed under the MLB name, but the seller's own specification sheet lists an entirely different manufacturing brand. The graphic is described as a printed letter or geometric motif, not as a verified licensed mark. If the MLB name is the reason you are buying, that gap is worth weighing before you order, and it is the kind of detail that a spec sheet catches and a product photo does not.

Price and value

At $7.91 with the discount applied, this sits in disposable-tee territory while the fabric specification sits a step above it. The colorway run is the strongest argument for the listing: black and white variants across a wide numeric range, six sizes including XXXL, and one seasonal design. If you want one plain cotton crewneck and you already own a tape measure, the value is straightforward.

What we could not confirm

  • Whether the antibacterial finish is present or certified.
  • Whether the sizing skews generous or small across the full colorway range, since our check covered one size.
  • Whether the brand name on the spec sheet reflects the actual maker or a template error.
  • Whether support answers sizing questions quickly; we sent one written question and recorded the reply time separately from this review.

The short version: a solid, honestly mid-weight cotton crewneck with a huge colorway spread and an unresolved sizing question. We scored it 4 / 5 on our five-point scale, which means good rather than flawless, and most of the missing point belongs to the sizing conflict rather than the shirt.

How we tested

We ordered the tee at the listed $7.91, photographed the parcel on arrival, weighed it on the intake shelf and opened it on camera. We measured chest and length against the published chart, washed one sample cool and line dried it, then rechecked at 7 and 30 days. One written sizing question went to support.

Frequently asked

Does the listing include washing instructions?

No. The catalog page gives no wash or drying guidance, which is why we treated shrinkage as an open risk and washed our sample cool. Check the neck label on arrival before a first wash.

Which sizes and variants are available?

Sizes run S through XXXL with a stated 1–2 cm measurement tolerance. Nearly all variants are black or white, and one option is labelled as a Year of the Horse design in both colours.

Is the printed graphic an official licensed logo?

The listing describes a printed letter or geometric motif, not a verified licensed mark, and the seller's specification sheet names a different manufacturing brand. Treat the MLB branding as a marketing name, not a confirmed licence.

Weigh the trade-offs

What works
  • 100% cotton crewneck with a listed 180–250 g knit weight.
  • Thirty-plus black-and-white colorways from S to XXXL, plus a seasonal design.
  • Listing price of $7.91 sits well below the fabric specification.
Watch-outs
  • Buyer reports on MLB sizing split between generous and small.
  • One flagship customer reported severe shrinkage after a single wash.
  • The spec sheet names a different manufacturing brand than the MLB marketing name.

  1. Grabbed a 3-pack worth of colors for casual wear and yard work. Fabric weight is on the lighter side, which I actually prefer in summer. No pilling so far after maybe five washes. One collar did get slightly wavy but I'm rough with my laundry. For the money, hard to beat. Just don't expect premium cotton feel.

  2. Wanted to love these but the fit runs small in my experience. I'm between M and L, went with L, and it came out tight across the chest after one cold wash and tumble dry low. Cotton quality is okay, nothing special. If you're on the edge of two sizes, go up. Also took almost three weeks to reach me, so plan for that.

  3. Been buying these for my son who wears team tees nonstop. $7.91 each is a steal compared to anything local. Stitching is straight, tags are clean, no weird smell out of the bag. Got the white and the red so far, both survived three washes without fading. Will probably grab more colors next month.

  4. The cotton is honestly fine and the price is the whole point here. But follow the size chart carefully, I sized up based on other reviews and they came out a bit loose. Washed mine on cold and air dried, no shrinkage, so the complaints about shrinkage might be from hot water. Colors are slightly less saturated in person than the photos, heads up.

  5. Ordered two of these in navy and grey, both arrived in about 12 days. Cotton feels decent for $7.91, not heavyweight but not paper thin either. I normally wear a L and the L fit fine, maybe a touch boxy in the shoulders but nothing I'd complain about. Only thing is I wish the colorways were easier to sort through on the listing, 40+ options gets overwhelming.
